I got a chance to get some sycamore maple from a blow down.Do you think that’ll be dense enough?Got some ironwood though too but it’s rather knarly with some pin knots and wavy grain etc.
The specific gravity of it ranges from .45 to .60.Rather light I think really.Ironwood is a bit denser..65 or better.
It should be good for lighter bows. With light maple its important to keep the poundage low and/or add more sinew thickness.
I mean low poundage, anything under 70#, sorry. ![]()
