Rawhide

Something different than birch bark or leather here.
With this large enough deer hide from last years season I’ve decided to take 2 strips from the belly edges of this dry scraped dehaired deer hide for covering bows. This area is nice and thin.but tough enough to do the job and for decorating purposes.Very conforming and easy to work with stuff once moistened enough.
Remanants of rawhide from the edges will go into the bucket for hide and sinew glue.I do not waste much of this stuff.
The rest of the hide will be brain tanned and smoked for other projects.
