I think more than 30 grams
Yes that’s impressive with so little sinew. That is an interesting concept too to do a pre brace before subsequent layers of sinew. I realize your concern was with horn glue up which is what you are checking for but are you satisfied with it and how much more sinew will you be adding?
I will definitely add some more tendons About 30 grams more, the profile looks nice in my opinion especially since I didn’t I scraped off the horn. The bow may still be glued incorrectly, I had such a situation that I put the string on bow and pulled it and only then the horn came off very smoothly
Promising!
One little warning from my experience. Sometimes when the bow cures and sinew/glue gets stiffer - delaminations happen… Its when the horn starts to have maximum tension.
But its another worry for the future. Tiller looks nice! Continue.
21kg on 25,5inches Maybe it will be heavier when it dries better, it was just a test bow anyway, now I’m making the next ones
Two new bows are being created, one for target shooting and the other one heavier, for flight shooting. It should be 100 pounds
The bow has a bit of bend in the sal but that will go away when the tendons are put in
It looks good. Kasan eye is not getting too muxh reflex, its ok.
You have quite a lot of wood in the limb. This means the bending section needs to be longer. It will be heavy bow too.
for now one arm is 14mm thick and the other 15 lol . weight is probably 370gram last time I weighed it
You will want to scrape sinew so that both limbs are equal thickness. This is best done before the last layer. So you will have one fully intact layer of sinew but also pretty much same thickness limbs.
Yep, sounds like a 110-120# bow by mass. Send it to me and i will shoot it.
Hopefully you have some room to tiller from horn… or plans to do a lot of strength training and eating! It would be good, actually. I recommend
